This project began some time ago in order to observe, study and make sense of my life with Asperger's, ADHD, Dyscalculia and OCD. At the time of writing this [02.21.2022, m.d.y] I have now lived for a bit over 29 years with these conditions and still they are a wonderful, difficult personal and philosophical mystery to me, with their challenges, struggles & strife, the nature of all of which tends to unfold itself only gradually, elusively, and in its own time!

These particular works are therefore not of the kind easily, straightforwardly, or quickly written. I thus ask you for your patience in the interim between individual releases! More will follow, they just take a little time!

So, during the last couple of years I have been building a work of poetry, interweaving autobiographical and fictional elements. It began with a single poem, These Pathways with You (Diese Pfade mit Dir) (hereafter Pathways), which I wrote before I embarked on the academic journey of my BA (Hons) in 2018. It has since developed into a continuously unfolding body of a compound work. I call it a compound work as it comprises individual installments which, each existing in their own right, are yet chapters of the project Of Echoes & Dialogues overall.

Though at some point These Pathways with You was complete, I felt the thoughts I had been describing, dealing with, and manifesting therein weren’t yet at an end. Their treatment wasn’t over yet. The overall work thus grew in scale and I began to write The Echoes of the Days (Im Nachhall jener Tage) (hereafter Echoes).

For my Masters Creative Project, The Echoes & Sound of Experience, I recorded Pathways and Echoes, and built specifically curated soundscapes for them. You will be able to find the English (here, soon) and the German (here, soon).

While facing, and moving through the rough and raw feeling tides and pressures of my Honours year, I began to conceive, in thought, what would become Of Echoes & Dialogues (Von Echoes & Dialogen). This work, in particular, is deeply important and meaningful to me. It stands as its own project, separate from my other works of poetry you can find on this website.

It has become a philosophical work. Of Echoes & Dialogues is an exegesis, a rendition of my observations, experiences, and thoughts in terms of what it means to me to be human and a person, autistic with ADHD, Dyscalculia and OCD. Of Echoes & Dialogues is not, and should not be bound by any of these conditions however, and for you, dear reader, it doesn’t have to be about these conditions and it doesn't matter to me personally whether or not you are autistic or live with any other condition.

So whether or not you identify with, or know of these conditions, you are warmly welcome here! And I am glad you found this place!

Beyond these thoughts I have realised throughout the years, more and more so nowadays, that to understand my human and personal conditions, I have to understand those who do not live with these conditions. I have to understand the world around me and the people who live in it, without assuming that the world around me understands me . This recognition is intensely valuable to me albeit not always easy to uphold.

Embarked on my Honours year, I wrote and completed The Echoes of the Days, a work which established more of a metaphorical world and placing for my thoughts. This world is neither specific to any "real" place nor does it have to be so, and I am certain it will mean something different to each individual who reads it. That is good though and it isjust.

Personally, I do not have to know what your thoughts on my work are or what it means to you as a reader, for those thoughts are private to you and their disclosure or non-disclosure to me or others is your privilege and prerogative. So, if you do not want to share your thoughts, I am happy with that and you need not feel compelled to make them known. Equally, I would love to hear what you think, and how my work has affected you if it has, if and when you are comfortable sharing those thoughts.

If you want to share your thoughts it does not have to be publicly. You can also send me a private message per e-mail, using the specified e-mail on this page. The contents of your e-mail, I will not share, unless I feel it is necessary by law, or you extend me your permission to do so.

My latest work for Of Echoes & Dialogues, the poem, Within the Imperfect Veils (In den Unvollkommenen Schleiern), carries the thoughts of Echoes further and elaborates on them as Echoes elaborates on Pathways. After a long process of writing and editing, this is my longest poetic work to date.
